Kimber Guinn has always loved creating.

As a child she’d construct fantastical scenes from everyday objects: glue, string, tape, paper, markers, laundry hampers, you name it. Her creativity grew with her, but adult responsibilities eventually limited her time.

Cue the COVID-19 pandemic. Kimber began working from home and she and her husband renovated their basement, allowing her to design an ideal work space. She rekindled her love of sewing, creating over-the-collar bandanas for every season and holiday for her then 13-year-old Golden, Harper. Sewing runs in the family as Kimber’s mother used to sew her own clothing and still provides guidance when Kimber has a dumb question.

The Crafting Cupboard name pays tribute to one of Kimber’s favorite books, Harry Potter, as her sewing nook is nestled beneath the stairs. Kimber is constantly searching for sewing and crafting inspiration and loves a good challenge.

Harper, pictured left, passed away in April 2022 at the age of 14, but Kimber gratefully loves on the her customers’ dogs at events. Bringing joy to others through sewing has been a balm on her soul.

“Kimber is the best! Everything I’ve ordered from her turned out amazing. The masks are super cute and very comfortable, and my doggo loves his customized bandana!” -Stephanie C.
